I found you guys while searching for home brewing in Google. I purchased a Copper Tun Home brew kit from a local supplier here in South Africa. Tomorrow (27th) I start making my very first batch of beer. Pretty Excited as you can imagine.

Looking forward to learning and one day passing on info to noobs like me.

I've never been to SA, but I'm fascinated by your country. I even make biltong from time to time.

Hi Guys,

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, pretty excited, this mroning I doscovered I needed a few extra items, so I am off to teh store to make a few purchases and then I start the process.

its_manbearpig... Not often I hear of biltong outside of South Africa ha ha ha It's one of my firm favourites when you feel like chewing on something - lol

For old years eve, a few friends will be visiting and we are going to make another true SA dish called "Poitjiekos" - A direct translation would be "Pot Food", I think teh lcosest I could get to that would be pot luck? I hope I have that right. The whole meal will be cooked over a fire for a few hours.
