Hey guys

Partial brewer here at Purdue University. I've done about 5 batches of brew so far, mostly pretty tastey. Finally brought all my gear from home (Tinley Park, IL) back to school so I can keep the batches going. Just ordered some supplies to make a belgium ale for my next batch. I hope it gets here on saturday so I can do it then and get it crankin.

Hope to learn tons from the site.

Thomas

boiler up,
Welcome! Tell me, do they have any degrees at Purdue for what your about to do? If not, maybe you could get a Chem prof interested.

actually, there is an insane enology department under the food sciences school. they make wine like crazy around here. i talk with the head wine lady alot and she is interested in trying some of my brews so hopefully i'll be able to get some good pointers out of her.

Welcome to the forum

Are you from the Indiana area or did you just end up at purdue?

i'm originally from the south side of chicago. i picked purdue for their engineering school (i'm a mechanical engineer). i live here year round, though, so i know the area pretty well.

Purdue Chemical Engineer here. Only took me 9 years!

I did manage to get a PhD along the way.

My roommates and I saved the tops from our beer kegs, and when we graduated we counted over 100. We drank a lot of beer in that town.
