Been brewing since 1999. Started with kits, advanced to extract with specialty grains, then to all-grain.........now back to kits. Actually, I still do all three, just don't have the time for all-grain right now.

Maybe a better way to put it is I enjoy all facets of brewing, I've made some really great beers by all methods, as well as some real stinkers! :cross:

I say I'm back to kits, only due to time constraints - 3 kids will do that to you!

Always looking to learn, hope that maybe I can help others.

Favorite beer style - North German Pils. :mug:

Are you the fellow from Ephrata I met at the club meeting on Wed.? I never did catch his name. I brought the smoked porter.

Nope, wasn't me.

I joined a homebrewing club in Lancaster several years ago, but I couldn't stay active - too many other commitments [three kids, an extremely time-intensive job, one & half mortgages, etc etc] The club met at the Lancaster Brewing Co. Is this the same one?

Smoked porter sounds tasty!

I know Reamstown very, very well. I work in East Cocalico Twp. in fact.

I'll bet I know your favorite brewpub - wouldn't by any chance be UBW, would it? ;)

PM me about getting together to share a brew or two, sounds good.

Welcome aboard! I just started on here back in Jan. Great board with lots of friendly people and advice. I'm from the York area but work in Lancaster. I all grain and partial mash brew now but agree you can brew a lot of good beers with extract. I prefer DME when brewing and use it also to help when doing PM. I was telling Evets that I'm going to try and make the next Lancaster meeting next month. I'll have a Brown Ale, S bitter, ger wheat, an IPA and a helles ready.

Welcome. I'm originally from PA too (Bloomsburg) living in OR now. Anyway glad to have you aboard!

Ah.......up in hop country, eh? :ban:

Actually, I'm originally from the Baltimore area. Maryland will always be "The Motherland".

Welcome... my girlfriend lives in Lititz and I frequent the area. Looking to move into Manheim or somewhere near the 283 highway in the near future. Wouldn't mind getting a group brew-day going sometime when it warms up!

Yeah, I've been thinking about that for a while now. I've got plenty of room. May's a little hectic for me. I'm thinking maybe June.

Thanks!

I imagine you get some of your supplies from Mr. Steve's?
I buy some things there but order most of my malts in bulk. Actually putting together a bulk grain and DME order together now, any interest in bulk DME?

Alrighty Then! I made an official announcement in the Group Gatherings section regarding a group brew day. I hope to see you all in May!
