Hello from Oregon

Hi guys. Newbie from the Pac NW here. Got into craft beer and homebrewing last summer. 5 extract batches so far, and today my 1st AG attempt, an Imp Stout. Several of you have been most helpful already. I appreciate it and love this forum.

I am just north of Salem, a small town called Silverton.

Good spot. Have you gone to the “Blooms & Brews” Fest? The Oregon Garden is nice in April. You're in a good spot to join both the Oregon Brew Crew and the Heart of the Valley clubs.

have not gone to that Blooms and Brews...is it any good?
And i do need to join a homebrew club. Trying to find one closer to home. Are there any good ones in Salem?

HoV alternates between Corvallis and Albany. There might be something in Salem, but in 2 1/2 years I haven't heard of one. http://www.beerinfo.com/index.php/pages/homebrewclubOR.html lists two, but I have no idea if they are active.

Blooms and Brews was great in 2005, missed it last year due to a schedule conflict. Smaller than some, but good brews.

Heart of the Valley in Albany is closer at least than Portland for me....about 1 hour away. If i cannot find a local Salem club i will try them. Are they pretty good?

I like HoV, most of the folks are focused on making & enjoying good brews. They alternate months and this month's meeting is in Corvallis.

hey wow its amazing to see people from oregon on this forum. i am new as well but im from Ireland actually. last year however i studied at Linfield College in McMinnville, Oregon if anyone's ever heard of it?
