Hi All,
Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Matt. I live in Newport Beach, CA. I have been brewing for 17 years, but just got back into it after a number of years off.
I joined this forum because I mostly want to just get in touch with other homebrewers for inspiration, especially as it pertains to improvements to my homebrew system. I made mine out of a heart lung machine! I'd post a picture but I don't know how. I also have a 15 gallon converted cooler for a mash tun. Works great to make 10-13 gallon batches, but theres always room for improvement. In my experience, brewers are a creative and handy bunch, and give good advice on engineering-related topics. Im brewing with a friend right now at his home (using my equipment), but he is completely new to the hobby its a lot to learn, hes drinking from a firehose!
I just finished a smoked porter that is one of the best beers Ive made in long time. Im quite taken with it. My brew buddy is to the moon. We're going to make a pumpkin ale next - one I've made many times, but not in years!
Well, nice to meet you all.
