Hello from MS!

Hello y'all! First time brewer here in South Mississippi. Actually I guess I can't really say that I'm a first time brewer as I was originally bought a brewing kit in 2009(?). It was a Mr. Beer kit, but I was unimpressed. I've read lots of forums and different blogs talking about the Mr. Beer kit, some good some bad. My first and only batch with the Mr. Beer kit was a disaster, imho.

Well, this Christmas SWMBO allowed me to treat myself to a wonderful gift from Northern Brewer and the rest will be, as we like to say, history! I haven't begun brewing yet as I've not been home long enough since I got my kit to actually brew my first batch, but Saturday will mark the beginning of my new addiction.

Looking forward to picking the brains of some of you veterans around here and hopefully I can meet some locals via this board!

Welcome and good luck!. I'm new myself having brewed only 5 batches so far but I can tell you have been reading the forums as you seem to have all of the acronyms down I'm still trying to figure some of them out myself.

Not new to forums just this one. I've been a forum lurker and poster to many forums over the past 10-12 years so I'm pretty up to date on most lingo/acronyms and if it's something I don't know, a quick google search usually reveals the meaning.

To add to my earlier post I guess I could, you know, Introduce myself.

Name's Richard, 33yrs old and work in the IS dept of the local hospital. Avid beer lover, and acting BMC hater. My new years resolution this year is to brew more than I buy and not buy anything that has a BMC stamp on it. :rockin:
