Hello everyone. My name is Alex and I am from Montreal, Quebec. For many months I was sporadically thinking about starting to homebrew but was busy all day at work and on the weekends. And then, a few weeks ago at Costco, my girlfriend poked at me when she saw a beer starter kit for 25$. Had no choice but to take it :)

I really like craft beer and, the more I read about beer making, the more it gets me excited to do my own homemade beer from scratch. For my first homebrew, I grabbed a Coopers English Bitter brew kit at my very friendly local home brew shop and can't wait to taste it:mug: But as everybody say, patience is key to success!

I will post my first brew (which is currently fermenting and making my airlock bubble!) on the forum as soon as I can!

Welcome, from Minnesota!

What style did you brew? Keep us posted on the progress.

I'm brewing a brown ale, but it has glimpse of red and I especially love these beers during fall/winter. I tasted an English beer that looks similar, color-wise, at an Irish pub in Montreal: a Boddingtons cream ale. It has subtle taste of chocolate and coffee in mouth, has a nice and light bitter ending, not much after-taste and very drinkable. Maybe tase-wise, the English Bitter will be similar!
