Good day!
I've been browsing these forums for a while, as my internet searches have always provided links to homebrewtalk forums. I've picked up a good bit of info from all of the post and just decided to sign up.
A bit about me ( or more importantly my brewing ). I have been brewing for 9 years now, mostly grain/extract, but this weekend my wife and I built our first mash tun and we loved it! Yes, it took a bit to figure out a few calculations rather than dumping in some malt extract, but just the hands on fun has been worth it all.
We put together a recipe for a nice big creamy Hefe. The target og was 1.057 and our actual was 1.050 with an estimated 23ppg. Not perfect, but not too bad for my first stab. It's bubbling away now and I can't wait to taste it.
Thanks for all the info in the past, and I look forward to sharing great info in the future.
Dave
