New to Home Brewing...Finally got all my equipment together...some I ordered on line, and some a bought from a small home brew shop not too far from where I live. Ordered my first beer ingredient kit and should be here tomorrow or Tuesday. I am very excited about brewing my first batch of home brew this week. The wisdom, opinions, advice, and tips that I have been able to read and learn on this site have giving me the knowledge and confidence I needed to make this happen. I have also invested in some good books on the subject including "How to Brew" by John J. Palmer.

HomeBrewTalk.com is a great place, and I'd like to thank everyone that has taken time to help others by sharing their thoughts on this site!! Revvy has some very interesting and informative posts.

Prost! :mug:

Hey hey! Welcome, and congrats on your first brew purchase! What did you get? Extract? PM?... AG?

Keep this site up on your PC when you are brewing, if you have any issues or Q's... someone will be sure to answer.

I ordered a Bavarian Hefeweizen from Austin Homebrew Supply. I ordered the one with the specialty grains, malt extract, hops, and liquid yeast. I brewed it today and it went pretty well for bring my first time brewing beer. I took a lot of pictures of the process and thinking about posting them on the site. Where would be a good place to write a post about my fist brew day including pictures?

Hey, welcome from New Orleans and congrats on your first brew day. You can load the pics into your gallery and then post them with a narrative either in the photo forum or the beginners forum. People always like a little beer porn.

Thanks....i'll probably post them in the beginner's forum

I remember the couple of months I was temporarily transferred to Gonzales for work years ago. Discovered a fondness for cajun food and cajun women when I was down there...lol

Welcome to HBT and congrats on getting your first batch going....:mug:

Hey! Well, I'm also from Denham....New here also.....And also glad to join up on the sampling squad!

Question: Any of you buy supplies from the local stores?

The on in Denham, yes. I have not bought much from the new one on Jones Creek just because the pipeline is ok for now.:mug:

I haven't been by yet either, but hopefully this weekend. Hopefully they have a decent stock of ingredients. I don't mind buying online, but I'd rather buy from a brick and mortar store when I can.
