Hi. I'm EZ. I'm from Louisiana. I'm looking for a hobby. I have a nice shop out behind my house. So, i was thinking about starting to brew my own beer. I'm looking to build a set up that is professional and expandable. To start, I'm just planning on brewing beer for just me. But i don't know what the future will hold. I'm am totally green. I don't even know where to start. But I'm hoping a few of you guys with a passion for brewing will steer me in the right direction.

First off, welcome to the forum.

The most important piece of info I can give you is to read up on the process and the equipment you'll need...and ask lots of questions.

Search for John Palmer's "How to Brew" book. The 1st edition is on-line for reading and free. Great price. :rockin: Or you can pick it up at a book store.

Hello and welcome to the forum. I'm not sure what part of Louisiana you're in, but there are some real nice homebrew shops in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. I live in Mandeville and if you're anywhere around me, I'd be happy to help you get started. Your best bet is to read as much as you can about this wonderful hobby and this site has the best resources. I started off by buying a starter kit off the internet that included all the basic materials and I've grown much more since then. Good luck to you and happy brewing!

I live in the northeast part of the state. Monroe. I went on a business trip a year ago to Denver. While there, I went up into the mountains and stopped a brew pub in Idaho Springs, CO. It was called Tommyknockers. Ever since then, I've been wanting to brew my own beer.

Try to find a local brew club and get involved with them. The more brewers you are around, the more you will learn. BTW...Welcome from New Orleans.
