Looking for any and all info on All Grain Home Brewing. I am completely fascinated with whats available on-line about Home Brewing in general, but not sure were to start ??

Read how to brew by John Palmer , it's online and free... That will give you an idea where to start. I've never brewed an extract batch, I started with all grain with a cooler mash tun, and after 30+ batches I'm still using it ! Also check out the brew in a bag tutorial by Deathbrewer, it helped me visualize the point of the whole process. Read up and search a ton, and keep looking at all grain recipes until they make sense - don't do as I did and post here asking for someone to translate a recipe into something I can read :) The response was, if you can't read it, you're not ready !! :). Good luck and keep us posted !!

Welcome to HBT.

Peruse the AG forum on this site and you will also find a ton of information.

local library is a good source of info too. my library has some good brewing books in the cooking section. all-grain is easy, the only hard part is equipment investment & the extra time it takes.

WOW. I guess I know were to start. This Board !!! I will do my best to "search" out my info, before asking any stupid questions.

Thanks guys

Hey welcome to another Canadian brewer. This a great site to learn how to brew, and remember there are no stupid questions... but you might get some stupid answers.. some from myself, lol.

Cheers

Welcome to the board!

Yes, this is THE place to start. There is a ton of information here and if you ask the right questions people chime in very quickly.

You may also want to speak to a local AG brewer to see the process and get hands-on experience. I'm in Cambridge but I have had a guy come up from London to help on a brew day. I'm certainly open to it and brew weekly so feel free to PM if you like.

I think the most important thing when you're starting out is to make it simple, simple, simple. There is so much technical information out there and so many variables that it can be daunting but it doesn't need to be. I make my process as simple as I can and encourage others to do so so that they can enjoy it rather than making it a chore or a worry.

All the links and info posted already is very helpful. Just go for it and enjoy!

Well Red, that's an offer you should take up. Goes to show the willingness of brewers to help out. Good show pcollinns. :mug:

Cheers, boo boo!

I think it's safe to say we have all been helped out by fellow brewers. I've had ingredients and gear given to me with no expectation of pay back. Lots of trades of beer. Much time spent over a pint asking questions of fellow brewers. I find the generosity of brewers overwhelming at times.

Pay it forward!
