Hi there!
New-ish homebrewer from Igloolik, Nunavut.
After spending $300 on two bottles of rum, I've decided it would be cheaper for me to make my own alcohol. Alcoholic beverages are limited, in my community, to those smuggled in luggage on flights, those made yourself, and those ordered through the local alcohol education committee.
As I don't want to lose my employment benefits while smuggling, and the committee + shipping is too expensive for me, I've decided to make my own.
I've been brewing wine and beer now for about a year (all the beer has been kit'n'kilo, as i doubt i could get a decent boil on a propane burner outside in -60 temps), and will soon move back to Ottawa.
I'd like to learn more about AG and BIAB brewing, hence joining a new forum
I look forward to learning from you guys!
