Hi everyone. My name is Mike and I'm new to the whole beer forum concept.
To give you some background info, I've been brewing beer for about a year and a half now with my neighbor Jim. Initially, our wives conspired to start us on this hobby as a gag gift at Christmas. But to their surprise, its become a serious hobby and one we've built on it ever since. Granted, we're not into the all-grain process yet, just 20-minute boils and mini-mash kits, but its all very interesting and loads of fun.
I think we've brewed nearly 20 batches to date and plan to keep brewing as much as we can. I have to admit that before brewing our own beer, I was a Bud Light kind of guy and it was very rare that I even had a beer. I guess I just never developed a taste for the stuff, even during my Navy days. Of course the purposes for drinking beer were quite different. These days I enjoy the varieties of color, aroma and taste, whereas it was all about getting hammered back then.

Joining this beer forum will hopefully give me insight to practical brewing tips and knowledge from master home brewers such as yourselves. I look forward to reading all that I can from this site and its excellent members. Thanks!

Welcome,
I here you about beer attitudes and tastes changing over time. I used to hate beer until I was introduced to micro beer well after my college days. Even then until I started brewing I only went through a couple 6packs a month.
Now I hit the local beer store (Warehouse Beverage on Mayfield) atleast once a month to get some new styles to try. And I'm brewing atleast once a month.

Enjoy the addiction.

Craig
