Hey everyone!

I'm really excited to get into the world of home brewing. I haven't started purchasing equipment yet as I'm still in the research phase before diving head-first into what is sure to be an amazingly fun and rewarding hobby.

I can't wait to learn and share and grow. Thanks for having me as a part of your community!

And as always... :mug:

Makes me think of chef John on youtube. And as always,...enjoy! as he says. I haven't lived in Cinci for years, but there are some LHBS's there now. Maybe do a search to find some locations where you can walk in & get advice on what to purchase? 6.5 to 7.9 gallon buckets are the easiest to use. A capper, bottle caps, hydrometer, bottling bucket with spigot, tubing, bottling wand (filler), plastic paddle or long spoon, And at least a 5 gallon (20 quart) kettle will be needed, for starters.

There are 3 LHBS that I frequent in Cincinnati:

Listermann

Paradise

Brew Monkeys

Obviously each depend on where in Cincinnati you live. All 3 are great.

Brew Monkeys is probably closest to me. I actually live in Fairfield near Jungle Jims.. JJ's does have a small section devoted to homebrew, but I'm not sure that it would qualify as a LHBS (nobody to ask questions to, but it'd be quick if i know exactly what i want just to pop in and pick up ingredients etc.)

I find Jungle Jims' selection to be very lackluster and it doesn't move well so you risk old product.

Good to know Vamp, I was kinda wondering about that since they have their homebrew stuff kinda tossed into a back corner. I'll try to get down to BrewMonkeys one day next week. :)
