Hello from Chicago Newbie

Hey all,
I'm a 21 year old student at DePaul in Chicago. I recently got some homebrew equipment as a hand-me-down from a friend who's quite a bit older than me. I don't know all that much about using it yet, but I'm reading the complete joy of home brewing and plan on making my first batch sometime this week. If anyone is a home brewer from Chicago let me know!
