Yes go on and laugh at the name of the town that I live in. Its a great small town its one that if you blink driving by you will miss it. I have just started to get into brewing and I my first batch is called West Coast Blond from www.homebrewheaven.com and it has been in bottles for about a week now so I will be trying my first one in just a few hours, but I know that I still need to let the rest age another week or so. I have been reading what others have posted and I think that this is going to be a great place for great info and tips. I look forward to sharing what I learn with you and I hope that you'll keep doing the same. Just remember if I ask a dumb question that I am new to this whole brewing thing.

Bottles up.

Welcome!

As you know, your sample today will probably be underwheliming. Try another again in a week, but don't expect the beer to really hit its stride until it's been bottled for three.

My town is in Virginia on what is know as the Eastern Shore and I don't know where your from, but my guess would be you would not call it a town. I live just down from our small Post Office ( its a post office about the size of a small garden shed ) and in downtown "Birdsnest" there maybe about 15 houses.

I did try one well two of my first beers and they were really good I am very happy how they turned out. My mom was telling me story's about when my dad brewed years ago and how bad his beer tasted. Then his side of the story was if the bottles did not blow it was good. I plan on trying to hold off on drinking anymore for another week or two if I can wait that long.

Sorry Dude I did not look before but I see your from Hampton, VA thats not all that far from me just the $17 dollar toll on the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel and about 30 min's north after you get off.

I am almost sure you have been to HomeBrewUSA over there. I went there a few weeks ago to get some bottles to start off with. I got my beer kit from www.homebrewheaven.com. But I don't know if it was me but I felt like the woman running the place did not really want me in there store that she was like ok so what do you want so you can leave. I stated to talk to a young boy working in there who was really nice, but it made me not really want to go back there anymore. I am going to talk to the owner of a bar that I am going to tonight and see if I can get her girls to save me some pry top bottles. Maybe she will do a trade some bottles for some homebrew or something.
