Hello and possibly goodbye (wine)?

Hello!
My wife and I have been working on an Elderberry wine - it's been our first attempt at brewing! We've been really enjoying the process but it has clearly been infected with something! Before we poured it away we thought we should check with some experts to see if there is a last-ditch thing we could do. It has been in the carboy for a few months - we have been so busy. We're pretty gutted about it, but c'est la vie! Any thoughts/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Did you keep the airlock full?

We did keep checking and topping up... don't think it ever was empty... but couldn't 100% rule the airlock out as a problem.
