My name is Bill and I am addicted/obsessed with home brewing. I started out a few months ago with the Mr. Beer set up and just brewed my first 5 gallon partial mash last night. I just stumbled upon this forum and I am really enjoying browsing through it. I am 29 years old and live in Erie, PA. I also have a question for someone more experienced. I used liquid yeast in my brew last night and it exploded when I opened it. Some of the yeast ran down the tube and into my wort, should I be as worried as I am about my wort getting contaminated from it?

Thanks-
Bill

Welcome...you should be fine, in general you want minimize any expose to an unsanitary surface...however stuff happens and as long as you do the best job you can to prevent the majority of issues/contaminates than you should be fine!
