I haven't drank in about 2 years. Made kombucha quite a few times, yogurt, lots of fermented foods. I have made one batch of kilju using eBay alcotech 48 a few years ago. Used to drink king kobra as my go-to. I have been sober for about 2 years now. A single beer now will put me down. I just got into trying beer that isn't trash, but don't want to spend my check on the good stuff. I'm a simple man, I don't want thousands invested, at least not yet. I am just considering a simple setup:

2.25 batches of (insert big name here) extract into an old carboy I've had for years since my kilju adventure
Check to see if it's done, if so, throw in a mini nitro kegerator

I have never had a bad batch of any other fermented endeavor I've tried, sorta like my green thumb, so I'm willing to bet I can make a simple stout that won't break the bank as a treat for myself, or having to go to the store.

I am going that if the batch is drinkable, I can just do that to keep me happy until I get something bigger. I am pretty sure I'm able to keep it at consistent temps (I'd take.it to work to ferment) so I don't think I can totally screw it up.

Comments or concerns appreciated.

Welcome to HomebrewTalk!

Thanks for your confession! I sincerely hope you can regulate your tongue dabbles. Drinking good beer in moderation, it being homebrew or commercial, can be a real treat!

The best part of having a kegerator is being able to sip little bits, and they're always fresh.
