1. I will be setting up a EBiab system. How many gallons can a 2000 watt element bring to a good boil? I know it's now enough to boil 5 gallon batches but could it at least mash a 5 gallon batch?

2. If I wanted to make a heat stick to supplement when doing bigger batches how long can the cord be? I have an old 12guage extension cord I can use.

I'm trying to avoid putting to elements permanently in the pot.
Thanks

I have two 2000w stainless elements in my kettle now, but started out with just one and I could bring 5.25g to a boil. I know most people say you cannot, but I did. I never really tried over that amount as I was doing 3 gallon batches. Added the second element (on a different circuit) and now I have know issues boiling 8-9 gallons.

Now I'm wondering would just adding an induction cooktop under the kettle for bigger boils be easier than a heat stick??
