Heat stick and plastic seal?

I built 2 heatstick last night and when I put the nut on the end for the element I also used the plastic seal that comes with the waste trap and nut. My question is are my heat sticks still usable or is this seal going to melt and cause problems?

It's the coupler that's under the brass nut that holds the element in the pipe.
