Trying to see what the weather is going to do before I ship out. I would hate to see a rare homer beer that I worked my ass off to get, freeze during transit. When is everyone else shipping, and am I just paranoid?

I would wait. Right now most of Michigans lower peninsula is under a state of emergency so more than likely your box will sit on a truck freeze and explode.

Haha, I actually wore pants for the first time this year on Friday ( I did wear them a few times 1/1/13-6/1/13 when I rode the bike everyday everywhere).

If you give them a good soak in Oxi (with hot, hot water) it's not too bad. Sometimes there will still be adhesive left and I'll just give it another soak and it comes right off.

The IPA still has good flavor, but it is faded. I'll ship you one when I re-brew in the spring.

By the way, if there is a photo of the full haul it will certainly have some empty bottles in it. I haven't touched any of these yet but one of those RIS bottles will die this weekend.

The stout mcbaumann sent is similar to something I've been talking about brewing. We are die hard campers (well, we RV now that we have the kids...if that counts as camping). I have been talking for a year about brewing a stout that had a s'more or campfire taste.

Any other packages sent out yet? The weather doesnt seem too bad for the detroit area the next ten days if that is what people are waiting on.

Also, have you killed any brews that mark or I sent you yet Ridire?

PS, if you do try the mole stout, dont feel bad about dumping it if its not your style of brew. I suffered through it and kinda wished I woulda dumped it. It isnt terrible in that they messed up brewing it, just not a flavor combo I can dig. Chefrex got the mole stout also and had to dump half of it, worth the experience of knowing you dont like that style though

Honestly don't remember half of what I put in there, but pretty sure it was all stuff that could handle some age. Even once shipped I'm not sure when he'll see it, being across the pond and all.

Well im glad you enjoyed the mole! Ethos isnt the best IPA ive had obviously, but a good cheap staple at $2.50 a pint. I hope you enjoy the RIS as much as I did, thats a great brew. Glad you got more beers on the way

I just checked the Detroit weather forecast for early next week and I might actually wait a bit longer to ship mine out, if that's ok.

Def has to go out before the end of the month because we're moving, but hopefully it warms up a little in the next couple weeks...

Its up to you. I sent mine at the first of the year when it was pretty cold and everything made it fine. You would be surprised how well bubble wrap/paper/packing peanuts keep things insulated. Its not like its sitting outside overnight. Normally not even sitting in a truck overnight, but that could happen and thats the worry here I believe
