Hi,

I have a 5 gallon batch of hard lemonade that will need to be sweetened soon. I had thought of using wine conditioner but wanted to hear what you have used?

For those who used regular table sugar, did you make a simple syrup with the sugar first? If you did, what ratio of sugar to water?

At this stage do I have to worry about over mixing?

Are you going to be bottle carbonating it?

If no, then I'd make a simple syrup with the sugar. Just enough water to dissolve the sugar in (it won't take a whole lot).

If you're going to be bottle carbonating it then lactose or wine conditioner will work.

Hi,

I don't plan to carb.

Thanks for your help

OP,
Did you sulphite and sorbate it?
If you did, you can then just make a simple syrup as stated above.
I use about about 2 pounds in a 6 gallon batch.
Bull

What do you think about this plan?

It now has been a day and a half that the reading did not change. Tonight if it still has not changed I will rack it off the inch of lees into sorbate and campden. If after two days there is still no change I will sweeten with simple syrup.

I just recently finished a 3 gal. batch of this myself. To sweeten I removed one cup per gallon of the finished lemonade, put it in a small pot, and heated to a medium low heat. I added 1/2 cup of sugar/gal. ,and 3/4 cup powdered lemonade mix/gal. stirred until dissolved, and let it cool. Once it cooled I added it back into the original brew and stirred it up. To me and many others it was the perfect mix of sweet and sour. Just my .02. Enjoy
