Hard Cider Question

I'm what you call a rookie at home brewing, only been doing it for about 2 months and tried making my first Hard Cider last night. My question is will i ruin my batch if i left the cinnamon sticks in the primary?? I assume it won't hurt but would hate for 5 gal to go to waste! Thanks

I haven't done it, but on a different website I read that it is not a good idea.
