If you're going to spend that sort of money on a barrel then i'd go for the King Keg Bottom Tap. They are a stronger keg and use a combined gas injection/relief valve which are also used on the cheaper basic barrel and more commonly found in HB shops.

There's nothing wrong with the basic barrel though,except the neck is smaller so you cant get your hand in to clean it but light stains come off by blasting a hose round the keg, heavier stains can be removed by soaking with cold water with a cup of thin bleach added and stubborn stains can be removed by soaking with warm water and oxyclean.

I'd avoid the top tap kegs, they can be a real pita.
