Hello everyone,
My friend just purchased an Haier brewmaster from Costco. I also have the same model and had a few questions. I noticed that his has an extra piece of electronics on the back. It's a whit cylindrical object with wires attached to it that's between the thermostat and the compressor.

Does anyone know what this is and why the newer models have it? I went to the Haier website and looked for parts. They do have two separate parts list for a model HBF05EBSS and HBF05EBSS-1.

I can get a picture if no one else knows or has this on there model. Mine has a spot for it a small metal bracket sticking out, but nothing attached to it.

thanks

I can't tell you for sure, but I'll take an educated guess. It is probably to keep the cycle times on the compressor correct. Things like when the T-stat kicks on, the compressor runs for at least x minutes, to extend the life of the compressor.

This is what I was guessing. I am unsure why the older model does not have one. He was also able to get below freezing temps without any T-stat mod.
