Wow that is cool and sort of makes me wonder how valid the arguments to not carbonate in a growler are now. So confused.

That specifically says for PET growlers or the Tap A Draft bottles, both of which were made to carbonate in. Not regular growlers.

Right. But does it work? Carb then disconnect and connect a tap, right? How long does a charge hold? All party long or do you have to re-charge mid party?

Not so much. It's more for using PET 2-liters as growlers, but you recarb after pouring. They do work, keeping the beer carbonated, but you can't "tap" them. You open them, pour, then either recap and refrigerate and drink within the next couple hours (like a growler, but these seem to go flat faster for some reason), or you can hook it back up to the CO2 and recarb.

They're nice for taking to parties and whatnot if you don't have/don't wanna spend money on a glass or SS growler.

I'm not sure if it's exactly the same thread size, but I have one of the SS carbonator caps made for standard 2 liter soda bottles. I use it all of the time, and it works great! I pull beer straight out of the primary, carbonate it to about 25psi, stick it in the freezer to get down to temp quick, shake a bit, hit it with carb again, and repeat about 2-3 times until it is down to serving temps, and I have a fully carbed beer for sharing at brew club meetings straight from the primary in about 30 minutes.

If these are the same threads as a 2 liter bottle, there is another alternative cheap option as well.

You can get the kent carbonator barb and some carbonator caps and it becomes pretty reasonably to have a bunch of 2 liter growlers. They're plastic, not steel, so that's the downside. I've got a few of these and they work great.
