Hello everyone, just brewed a wit yesterday using this recipe:

https://www.brewersfriend.com/homebrew/recipe/view/322522/allagash-white-clone
I made a 6 gallon batch and I’m concerned I may have messed it up with my coriander addition. I added 1 oz of ground coriander from the grocery store that has been sitting in my cabinet for a while. I haven’t brewed with any spice before and I just did some research saying that ground coriander is too strong for brewing and that I should have just crushed the seeds.

Is my batch ruined? Has anyone had experience with this?

Thanks in advance!

An ounce of ground coriander in a 6 gallon batch sounds okay to me. I grind (not crush) my seeds right before use. If anything, the flavor from the long time ground coriander might be a bit weaker than you're expecting. It tends to lose potency over time.
