Hey just wondering how these swing top bottles are for holding pressure? With this larger size ( 1.5 litre ) would I use the same amount of head space as a standard size beer bottle when filling? Also I was wondering wha would be reasonable offer for a lot of 10 of these bottles? They are for sale on a buy and sell site.

Idk but i use them often. I use same headspace and have no issues. I use a bottling wand . I also use soda bottls 2 ltr and 1 ltr. Im preferential to the soda bottles though. Also some retailers offer similar bottles(morebeer comes to mind) maybe u could price compare.

Absolutely! I keep a few new ones on hand JIC one goes bad, but usually pull them off the top when washing the bottle and keep in separate container. I clean, sanitize, and put them back on right before bottling. A 4" piece of 1/2" PVC is a great gasket tool to put them back on the cap while bottling.

I have used these and I have a couple of bottles aging for a year and still hold pressure well.
If you're in Minnesota, I'll give you a case for free. I'm kegging now and have way too many bottles.

Does $20 sound fair for 10 1.5L bottles ?
I think so. What do new, 1L swingtop bottles cost? I'd guess ~$36/dz, or about $3 each + shipping. These are 1.5L, so you are getting a better deal. Another benefit is you don't need as many when bottling. They'll easily hold carbonation over a period of a few days when you pop one open and drink a pint, then put it back in the fridge.

If you can find a liquor store that sells them it's around $9 with tax for a 4 pack. So if you don't mind drinking the Grolsh it's $2.25 filled with beer. You can also try to get your buddies to drink it and promise then a few samples of homebrew after they donate the bottles to you.

I'm in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada so I'm a little ways from Minnesota. Also our alcohol prices are easily double the prices of alcohol in the states and tax is 15% in my province. Hense why I started brewing. Thanks for the offer though.
