I am looking at a few alternatives to the March pumps and was wondering if this pump would be a good one. The model is the 14110 GRI Mag Drive Pump, 570 gph, .5 amp, 6.25 lbs with these specs for $149.

Pump impeller driven via a magnetic coupling so no shaft seal is needed. Pumps should be used where flooded suction exists.

Features include TEFC motor, ceramic pump shaft, EPT/EPDM O-rings and Ryton body. Motors are thermally protected 115V, 50/60Hz.

Material in contact with solution:
Body – Ryton
Impeller – Ryton with epoxy adhesive.

Other components:
Impeller bearings – resin impregnated carbon
Front thrust bearings – glass filled Teflon
Rear thrust bearings – ceramic

This would be my first pump, does anyone have any thoughts on this one compared to the LG 3MDHC for $150?
