Hello all,
I am a brand new brewer (from Texas) living in Virginia Beach. I was having a hard time finding beers I liked, and one of my buddies was brewing a batch of mead. He suggested I try making my own. Many google searches later, I have 2 gallons of mead,3 gallons of apfelwein and two gallons of cherry wine in my secondary fermenters, plus 5 gallons of a Belgian Tart Cherry Ale in the primary. I might have hit the hobby a little hard :)

Welcome to the hobby that will suck you in like no other! I'll be interested to know if you find any good homebrew supply stores around the 757. I'm originally from there and don't know of any right off hand. You are luckily enough to be living in the future east-coast home of Green Flash. Norfolk just missed out on the east-coast expansion of Stone earlier this year but Richmond isn't too far of a drive I guess.

I've been shopping at HomeBrewUSA in Janef Shopping, though I did pick up a beer kit from Craigslist, and I ordered my Kegs from AIH. CO2 tank and regulator from Amazon.

They have been very helpful. Not too bad on most prices, though there is that east coast markup. I shop around and compare prices.
Husband was nice enough to sacrifice one of his shelves for my gear.

Welcome to the site.
Homebrew USA at Janif and Wine and Cake in Norfolk seem to be the two right now. Always hope more open up in the area so prices would drop some. I find in most cases online is cheaper even with shipping.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.
