Hi everyone, I'm Jonny! My wife and I are starting homebrewing this weekend! I brewed years ago in college, but not since. I've spent a lot of time on here doing research and I think I got a pretty good setup so far... I knew I wanted to keg from the start, so I saved up! I got a two keg system, with a duel regulator and two Perlick faucets. I painted up and old fridge and I have a beautiful Keggerator in my basement ready to go. I just got all the ingredients I need for my first batch. Its going to be a Rasberry Amber Wheat. (I figured i would make something the wife would like first). Since we are both Biologists... It was a must that we name our little operation something cool! To our dismay, Mad Scientist Brewing was already taken, so we settled with The Microbe Brewery. I thought it was a nice play on a word. Anyway, I love the idea of tweaking recipes and coming up with some crazy stuff! I'm looking forward to interacting with all of you in the future! Cheers and happy brewing! :mug: I'll let you all know how my first batch comes out... if its good I'll post the recipe.

UPDATE! Well I had a successful first brew day. I was very obsessive about keeping everything clean. The only little mishap I had was I broke my Hydrometer as soon as i took it out of the package! I opened up the top of thed little protection tube and went to pull it out and I guess i put too much pressure on it and the bottom of the tube fell out! crash on the cement floor... oh well... i didnt get to take an initial gravity reading. It took a while for the fermentation to start since i did not use a starter, but i see foam forming at the top for the wort and I can see there is some pressure building up in my airlock. I think we are getting going! Lets hope it works!
