also i want to bottle my beer what free bottles are the best champagne or corked whine bottles, i understand these are very reusable and strong.

also were do iget a cheap cooler 70 qt, i may be able to get one though the army via creative igineering, and who has the best plans and advice for converting. im going to use copper. im also going to make my own coonterflow chiller

i need a scale for hops i seen them on deal extreme a chinese website for 12 bucks free shipping

thermomters were do get one for cheap!!! or several

also were do i get a torch to heat my keg without spending 75 bucks!!!

im doing all this reaserch so im not spinning my wheels when im getting back, i never brewed anything, and i hate stater kits and extract stuff if im gonig to do it im doing it up right like all my other hobbies.

i need a keg my bro found one for 60 bucks on craigslist el paso, i think i can do better at the scrap yards i want a 15 gallon. what do you guys think all legal implications aside.

SO I'll try to give you the cheapest answers I can here:

1) For a hopper, you can just get a bucket and mount. If you have a multispeed drill you can hook it up to your mill to get it going.

2) I would recommend the ale pales for fermenting. They are much cheaper than the glass carboys. Also have your family back home be on craigslist watch for you. Lots of good stuff to be had on there. I don't have any experience with the Mexican glass carboys, but I have heard not nice things about their quality/durability.

3) I would recommend sticking with beer bottles. Caps and a capper are cheaper than corks/wire cages/corker is, plus bottles are easier to come by (plus only champagne bottles are built to hold pressure, not wine bottles). Anything that is pop top (as opposed to twist work). When it gets to the time to start emptying bottles, you can look around for lists of which are best.

4) Home Depot and Walmart will occasionally have sales on coolers. Another thing to have friends/family on the lookout for.

5) If you want a scale for just hops, you can get good, reliable, cheap postage scales at any office store (ie Staples)

6) What kind of thermometers are you looking for? For during the mash/boil or for during fermentation? Need more info for that one.

7) I'm afraid you are going to be spending at least $75 (especially if you have a keggle). Worth the money, though

7.5) I would recommend looking into a turkey fryer. It comes with a burner and a big kettle so they are a pretty good deal especially around Thanksgiving time.

Hope this all helps, stay safe. Come back with more questions, we'll help

this the kind of answers im looking for thanx

were do i get the mout its missing its mout so im guessing in convert the bucket through some creative ingineering, i think the screw idea will be the first way i go, but im looking for something more perman like the corna mounted on a board with swamp cooler belst and and old drill engine anyone got any ezperience with this,,,,

i thought about plastic,,,theres a certain amount of ooh and ahh factor to see whats going on this is the only thing ill pay to get, but still try and get a good deal.

i got a 70 gt rectangular cooler for free its beat up but who cares my 1st sergent gave it to me so when i go home ill ship it in our plt conex

i also got a large shower head for military showers portable style for a sparge arms. its big and green portable shower any ideas how to set this up mabe just dump the water in the portable shower and turn it on.

And again, thank you.

I'm having a hard time discerning the questions you still have, because it looks like you copy and pasted from the other thread that already has answers, and don't use any punctuation like question marks. Could you just repost only the unanswered questions?

I see a question about a laser thermometer. The problem with those is that they don't work very well on liquids. I struggled with my thermometers for a long time because they either weren't accurate enough, or kept breaking and causing me problems with efficiency when I was mashing.

Nowadays I use a Thermapen, although I have recently ordered a (also from Thermoworks) Mini Handheld Thermocouple with a couple of K-type probes, one of which is a regular pointy probe, and one of which is a completely waterproof, heat-proof silicone probe that can just sit in the mash tun or fermenter without breaking. The MTC Mini thermocouple is $43, and you can get probes for it from around $30, so it comes out to be roughly the same price as a Thermapen, only with more flexibility.

Not sure what other questions were in there.

Bro, no one wants to sift through that ungodly mess. Make a new post, put your questions in it, keep it neat so others can tell what you are asking....

I second Weirdboy....laser thermometers are great for figuring out how hot an engine is, but shyte for looking at mash temp.
