Aloha,
My name is Roger and I live on the island of Maui in Hawaii. I've been brewing something or another for most of my adult life. My first experience was making "swipe" out of pineapple when I was just a high school kid picking pine as a summer job. Some of the old timers taught us kids how to ferment the pineapple, still on the plant, and strain it with our t-shirts. Great fun! My first beer was brewed with canned malt extract that was sold in a local grocery store for making malted milk and regular baking yeast. No home brew shops back then, at least around here. Things are much better now and access to forums like this make it even better. I am very much looking forward to interacting with the Homebrewtalk community and taking it all to a new level.

I like how the bottles say, " liquid aloha" on'em. Walmart carries them. You definitely came to the right place for all things brewing.

Maui Brewing is great I really like their Lahaina Town Brown on tap. A nice thing about them is that they really support the local home brew community, hosting competitions and the like. They also sell grain and piggyback the order onto theirs so no shipping. Let me tell you shipping is always a consideration here.

You are thinking of Kona Brewing Company, they're on another island. Maui Brewing sells their beer in cans.

Yeah, I realized that later on. My bad. I for one am glad we've got better ingredients & equipment to ferment stuff nowadays.
