I've been auditing the forum for a while, and finally decided to get my feet wet...

Having read some of the threads here, I wanted to make a comment about Mr. Beer.

Having limited brew space, I asked my son for one of these for Christmas (about 2 years ago). I made the original kit (Pale Ale) and, while it WAS better than most store bought beer, I went on a rampage and started making fruit & honey beers using the kit.

We have a group of home brewing enthusiasts at work, and even THEY have been impressed with the results!

I'm on my 2nd keg now (got almost 600 bottles out of the first before it developed a leak) and I still use it....although I brew meades, wines, and other beverages via glass carboy.

I run it on a schedule so that bottling time usually hits on payday; bottle 22 bottles per batch each Friday night, and start a new batch the following Sunday.

I use the kits and add various honeys, sometimes an extra malt extract, pureed fruits, and various extra hops and get some very good beer from it!

But I am looking forward to doing some AG & extract brewing as well...once I have the time & space.
