Well I had to family over to the house yesterday for Christmas dinner since my one brother was up from Jersey. Having a few homebrews and showing off my gear to my brother-in-law who just got a starter kit for Christmas. I had a batch to bottle so I figured this would be a good first lesson for him to watch. Get everything set up start bottling and after the 8th one I realize I never added the DME I had boiled to carb the batch.:drunk: We open the bottles, dump them back into the bucket and run upstairs to get priming fluid. I felt about 2ins tall after that one. But I told him, at least he should always remember that one when he brews.:D

At least you caught it after only 8, i bottled half of 5 gallons and remembered.
Noooooooooooo!!!!!! new bottles caps were purchased that day needless to say.

I think everyone makes/almost makes that mistake at least once. I've had two close calls myself, although I've never actually bottled any un-primed beer. You just gotta smack your forehead and go on.
