I want to add some peppery notes from grains of paradise to a batch of beer I am about to make. Have never used GofP before. Per gallon, how much should I add and should I boil these peppers before adding, and if so, for how long to extract flavors?
Thanks

Last year I did a Summer Ale clone. The 10 gallon batch received 1.5 tsp of cracked grains of paradise with 5 minutes left in the boil. At that rate, I'd say it boosted the citrus and spice flavors without being particularly prominent.

Many thanks. That's very helpful.
