So my wife has been more than patient with my homebrewing obsession, even when i decided to convert our 20x30 shop into a brewpub she didnt batt an eye. On a recent trip away, she visited a real brewpub in the town she was in and brought me back a growler! Not even knowing what it was, she just thought i would like it. Well it now transports all of my beer from my shop keggerator to the house. Pretty exciting stuff lol i think ive finally got her on board with my obsession.

You should marry that woman! Oops, you already did. Sounds like a good pairing. Be sympathetic to her obsessions in life. Quid pro quo, ya know?

not to be the one-upper guy, but i actually got my wife to be the "brewmaster" on a brew for my sister (a beer for a female needs a female's touch right?). now i even got her to plan out her own recipe for our next all-grain brew! she's the type to want to spend money, and i'm the tight-wad, and she's been trying to convince me to just buy a keg for months now!

I have only been doing this for a few months but one of the first things I did was make the first few batches toward my wife's tastes. She likes honey and strawberry. My first beer was an IPA (for me). My 2nd beer was a Orange Blossom Honey Ale, 3rd and 4th included strawberry. Lots of strawberry.

We had some friends over yesterday and I have very little left and/or ready to drink so I went the "store bought" route. She asked me to pick up a some Corona Light, which she used to like! She took a few sips and said she's spoiled now!

Ah, it's good when the wife is on-board!

My wife hates beer but supports me brewing. I suppose because it keeps me off the streets and out of the bars haha. I try to be more patient with her interests in return.

My wife isnt a big beer fan either. Most things she tries says its too hoppy. Though when she was pregnant, she would take small sips of my beer and loved hoppy beers:cross:

She does support my hobby though. In the past, she has purchased a kettle, a pump, even a BoilCoil as gifts. Recently, I tapped a blackberry lambic, and she loved it! So now she is all about lambics.

Mine doesnt like beer much either, but i usually tailor at least one keg toward the bmc crowd and she will actually drink from that one. Haha a couple weeks back i had some coronas at a bbq, which used to be one of my fav summer beers. Needless to say im much happier drinking my own brews.

It is the best feeling in the world, isn't it? My wife has become a big supporter of my blossoming obsession with brewing because she enjoys the beer and she sees how much I enjoy sharing the product.

My wife has gotten into beer since I started. She now loves stouts and Belgians. Also she puts the screws to me if I don't work on the kezzer and or haven't I kept the pipeline up to speed.
She also enjoys going to different beer festivals around the city. (See you at South st. Seaport this weekend)

My SWMBO (not wife yet, soon) doesn't mind beer (though not a fan of anything bitter; I've a plan for a few brews that she'll hopefully like) though oddly enough can not stand the smell of the boil. Anytime I brew she leaves or we try to get as much smell out as possible, which is a shame as that is one the things I really like :cross: .

Need pictures of wife to confirm your post.

this thread is useless without pichers.jpg

The boil isn't the most pleasant smell of the brew session, so I can understand. But the mash is TOO die for, at least in my opinion.

Life is so much easier when the wife is on board. My wife has gone from a miller lite drinker, to pale ales, and now to IPA's. She buys me gift cards to the lhbs and the in-laws have bought me kegs, c02 tanks, customized growlers, etc. It's awesome!!!
