At 42, am I too old to be going to a Korn concert? In my own defense, I'm taking my 17 year old son and while we both like Korn, I'm really into Hell Yeah. I was wise enough to avoid the rush seating and take some real seats. No mosh pit for the Fingers dude.

You're definitely "that guy". I'm 31 and while I liked Korn when they first broke out, I just can't do an hour and half of it. I think they're trying too hard to be obnoxious now. I get it, mommy didn't love them right, the songs aren't going to fix it.

Uh oh. I'm not that familiar with Korn. I'm a 'Hell Yeah' fan and they're one of the back up bands. 'The Boy' is going to properly educate me over the next few weeks in Korn's music.

As far as 'that guy', I don't hang with kids, this time notwithstanding. My buddies are all grown up. I just like to listen to new music rather than live in the past.

What have I gotten myself into?

I saw Korn for the first time when they opened for Ozzy like 10 years ago (I was also turned on to Life of Agony for the first time at that show too). I think I might have been infatuated with Korn because I liked the 808 electronic drum sample the drummer kept hitting. It's that super low bass note you will constantly hear. After 5 or so albums, that BOOOOOOMMMMMM every 10 seconds gets old as hell.

My boy just had me put their latest album in the laptop just a few minutes ago. Have you heard it? Sounds good to me and nothing like you describe. I have to confess I know nothing of their earlier stuff but what I'm listening to now is maybe a little more mature than what they put out before.

By the way, I'm sure what you really meant by 'that guy', but to look at me you'd never guess I like the kind of music I do. Most of my friends like country music and other than a couple of old earring holes in my left ear that have probably healed by now, I look pretty conservative. I don't live the 'old guy trying to be twenty-something' lifestyle with the spiked hair and rock t-shirts or anything like that. Even my kids don't look like the stereotype.

Nah, I have to admit I haven't really given the two most recent albums a listen.

The "that guy" comment is basically any 40+ year old guy rocking out at a 95% <30 concert but actually you're excused because you're taking your kid. You should check out the stand up comedy dvd that Greg Behrednt has out called "uncool". There's a great segment about this.

Oh, heh, I get it. Actually, I could care less about cool. I haven't been cool since I started having kids. Just ask them, they'll tell you.

Cool is that keezer video you posted on youtube.

Immediate and permanent. Just when they get old enough that you don't have to dote on them every waking minute and can get back to your old life, you realize that you're 'that guy'. :D

I used to like Korn back in the day, when they where good. Course I also listen to country music now too.

I just bought my Social Distortion tickets for December 4th at the House of Blues here in Las Vegas. I have a group of buddies from back home who come up every time Social Distortion or Papa Roach comes to town. This time, we'll have some Homebrew to drink before we go to the show....:drunk:

GOATWHORE??? I mean, Cannibal Corpse I can see, well somewhat, but what kind of people are sitting around thinking up a name for their band and someone says, 'Hey guys, how about we call ourselves, pigf***er? No wait, wait...., GOATWHORE! Perfect!!'
