probably not. almost all of us have done it at 3 times or another. i've never had anyone tell me that ruined their wort, but i know it could

Chances are, nope, it's not ruined.

Unless you just shat all over you hands and then partially washed them off with a bottle Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, then you may have an issue.

You will be just fine and probably have very good beer. People always forget that beer has been brewed for millenia without any of our modern "sanitary" practices we employ today. People still drank it, and continue to do so today. RDWHAHB!

one of my hound dogs got a taste for wort awhile back. i do my best to keep his stupid dog nose out of the wort, but he's probably dipped his nose in 4 batches or so. every one of them came out fine.
granted, i think i have gotten very lucky, but still...

Thanks for the responses guys, things were getting rough there for a minute. Pumpkin clogged my strainer bag and when i tried to twist it to 'squeeze' the liquid from the pulp, the whole kit-n'-caboodle fell into the bucket.

All is well, and the product is bubbling away...

I did the same thing a few weeks back on an IPA. I'm drinking it now, and it's my best beer so far.
