My mom bought me a mr beer refill Canadian blonde and I have no clue what to do with it.....looks like a liquid malt extract n sanitizer what can I do with it

Use the lme for yeast starters and the sanitizer for obvious things. If you can't figure out what to do with any of it, I've got a mailing address...

It is a pre hopped extract kit. I would just brew it, but throw away the yeast packet. It's kind of an unknown of what it could be. I wouldn't us it for starters, as it already has hops in it. But if that doesn't bother you, than so be it

I had a Lager kit from Mr. beer that I added some steeping grains, added some DME to increase the ABV and added some hops (Galena .5 oz @ 60 mins & .5 oz @ 10 mins) and used Safale 05 yeast (whole packet). I added the Mr. Beer wort in at the start of the boil and the DME towards the end (I believe from memory without looking at my log book). Started off with 3 gallons for the boil and ended up with just under 2.5 gallons of wort. Let it ferment in the Mr. Beer fermenter for just over two weeks and bottled the other day.

The beer smelled great and I'm excited to see how it turned out. I'm calling this the L/PA (Lager / Pale Ale). Two weeks from now I'll know if my experiment turned out or not.

Good luck!

Teehee! Use it to make starters or as a hangover remedy, lots of nutrients there

nice! sounds good. I love how they call it a "lager" but you #1 dont lager it and #2 they use a generic yeast strain for all there beer kits, and i dought its a lager yeast

I got one of these last year and just brewed it as others suggested. The only issue was its not gong to make a 5 gal batch so I had a lot of head space in my fermenter which still made beer but if I had to do it again I think I would add dme/lme/hops to get to a 5gal batch and marvel at my creativity :mug:

I thought about this but then decided to only keep it at 2.5 gallons using the Mr. Beer fermenter. Just in case the beer doesn't turn out to my liking I only have 2.5 gallons not 5 l. Plus I had another brew (SMASH) waiting for the 5 gallon fermenter.

I was gifted the pilsner one and brewed it with some grains and a pound of dextrose in a three gallon batch. I'm usually down to do small experimental batches that don't cost anything for fun.

What have you made before? What do you like?

If it were me, I use it to do a quick small batch with some hops that I like:

To make 2 gallons:

Get 4 ozs of a hop that you like or would likke to check out. Hopefully they will have some decent AAs to get some IBUs from late additions.

Dissolve 1 lb of light extract (an addition to the kit) in a couple off gallons off water, and bring to the boil.

Once the break is done, boil for 20 more minutes. Add hops at:::

1 ozs at 20
1 ozs at 10
1 ozs at 5
1 ozs at 0

Cool, dissolve Mr. Beer kit in, add to fermenter and make up to 2 gallons. Add yeast when temp gets below 70 F, and aerate. You can use the yeast that is with it, but there are better strains.

Leave for a couple of weeks and you should have a 6+% hoppy beer with decent IBUs.
