hi i cant get to the lhbs, but i have the day off. this is what i have in the cupboard:

8 oz of caramel malt 10
8 oz carapils
4 oz caramel malt 20
8 oz caramel malt 60

6 lbs of pilsen lt dme

6 lbs american 2 row

2.5 oz of northern brewer hops
1 oz of kent goldings

i got a pack of notty that expires 3/18 and a pack of s05 that expires 5/17.

what should i brew

im leaning to the fresher notty but other than that am open to suggestions.
also towards the extract cause im lazy .

thanks

Could do an English Bitter.

Use all the grain you listed, leave out the DME.

0.75oz Northern Brewer @ 60 mins
1oz EKG @ 15 mins

Notty yeast.

English Bitter as suggested, or maybe a nice Spring amber ale.

90% 2 Row
10% Crystal (maybe 20 & 60 mix)
NB @ 60
EKG @ 15 & 0
US05 or Notty

You could also stick some of that extra NB in at the end or dry hop with a little EKG/NB mix.

i went with the english bitter. but i thik i messed up the hops. i put all 2.5 gm of nb in at 60 and dumped the whole oz of ekg at 15 for aroma. is this going to be too hoppy. it seemed like a lot of hops, more then i am used to.

if i put 6 lbs dme and topped off to 5 gallons does anyone know what the ibus will be?

thanks for the replies

I see a California common in there. ..

6# 2 row
4oz C20
8oz C60

.5oz NB at 60'
1oz NB at 10'
1oz NB at 5'
