GOOD NEW Question about holding yeast

here is my question.......

I have a 6 gallon sealed bucket and it has been sitting on my brew bench for 10 days after i pull the beer and put the beer in the secondary.

I was to WASH and save the yeast....

Is it to old? or how long can i keep the non washed yeast in the bucket before I have to throw it away, or wash it and store it in the refer...
