Sitting in my local BJ's and seeing a single valve kegerator with co2 Bottle (display model) for $199. Should I get it? I don't know much about these as I have bottled everything so far.

That seems like a pretty good deal for a brand new kegerator with a tower. You will need to buy a couple of things to use it with corny kegs, but I would buy that. It doesn't say in the listing that there is a regulator, but I sort of have to assume it has one if it comes with a CO2 canister and is meant for dispensing beer.

At $199, that sounds like a good deal.

For comparison, here is what I paid. I built mine.
Frigidaire mini fridge from Lowes: $175
Two-tap tower: $125
Co2 Tank: $60

Add to that upgraded faucets and lines, and I paid around $400.

I'd say go for it.

Half price is always a good deal, but if you don't need it right now you might want to be patient and keep an eye on craigslist. You might find an even better deal, I found a $599 kegerator for $200 recently, its used, but a little larger with digital temp readout, came with a full CO2 tank, dual reg, line cleaning kit, etc. I had almost bought a lower quality brand new one on sale for $399 just the day before and was glad I waited.

CL got me a Kenmore clone of the venerable Sanyo xxxx (I forget the model #, holds 2, 5 gl cornies and a 5# tank, could hold a half cornie too) for $40.00 add tower, tank, disconnects, etc. Well over 2 bills. I say "sold"

Thanks guys, just needed a small push.

I am home with it now and scratching my head as I look at this thing. It has a regulator and one of the ball lock valves, are there any resources that could teach me how to set it up? I am lost.

I'm a bit confused. The pic shows a price of $399.99, The link shows $90 off for $379.99 but the post says $199. The pic in the post looks like a plain mini fridge. There is a shelf right in the middle??????? And I see no taps??????

Hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like a sanke style tap. All you would need is a pair of corny quick disconnects, one beer and one gas.

Yeah doing a google search for me revealed that they are the sanke style. It appears there are a few joints offering conversion kits for this type of set-up. Anything else I should be thinking about, or needing?

Just plugged it in and she is cooling very well. I am really looking forward to figuring out how to keg. If anyone has some hints, tips or tricks for my first kegged brew I would definitely appreciate it.

All you need are those disconnects, either ball lock or pin lock depending on your type of corny. As far as kegging goes, here's a link with basic info.

The beer lines that come on most prefab kegerators are a bit short IMO. And also I like using the red gas line so that it is easy to distinguish between gas and liquid. If it were me, I would order 25' each of beer line and gas line and swap out what is in there. Of course, I would also drill another hole in that tower and add a second tap, and swap out the existing faucets for perlicks while I was mucking around.

You can likely replace the tower with a double or triple tap if you can fit multiple cornys in there. I have a youtube video showing my conversion.
