Go 60 miles north and pick up some Blind Pig and Pliny the Elder from Russian River
In SF pick up something from 21st Amendment Brewery. Brew Free or Die is good, and Hop Crisis is excellent.
I'm drinking a Speakeasy Big Daddy right now...

They have it on tap in various places around SF, but you can only get 1 12 pack and as many growlers as you like in Santa Rosa. I was just there last week, you can't get it in bottles anywhere but the brewery.

Bummer, don't think I'll have time to get out of town. Well, I'll pick up the other beer you suggested. Thanks!

I've heard there might be a few stores that have bottles, but they sell out fast. I looked at 4 different liquor stores in Santa Rosa and they all said it's "impossible" to get, except from the brewery.

I've heard if you go for Pliny, don't go looking like a city slicker, or you may find they've "run out". Be cool, make it known you're passionate about the beer. Then you get a bigger ration.

Heading to SF and N CA next week. We will drive from SFO to Mendocino so I plan to stop at Russian River to get some brew and then on to Bear Republic for lunch and brews and then Anderson Valley before getting to Mendocino, which will then require a trip to Ft Bragg for North Coast. Anybody know about Third St Aleworks in Santa Rosa?

Return trip will hopefully hit some spots in SF. 21St Amendment...and ? Thirsty Bear? Local Brewing? Recommendations?

Try and hit Henhouse in Petaluma, and cellarmaker in SF. If you get to the east bay then fieldwork, drakes dealership and if you like sours the rare barrel are all great

OK, now that I have brew pubs I need a backup plan in case I can't get to them all. Any advice on best selection of craft beer to go store North of San Fran?
