OK, I'm at a crossroads right now and I need some help.

My Kolsch has been in the secondary for 3 weeks now.
My caramel-vanilla has been in the primary for just over a week.

I need to transfer the C-V to a second, but the only bucket I have available is my bottling bucket. Buying another one will simply incur Wrath on me, so let's just not go there.

Should I rack the C-V to the bottling bucket for use as a secondary? SHould I do that, then clean out the primary and rack it back so that I don't have a lot of yeast in my beer when i bottle? Should I rack my Kolsch from 2nd to 3rd and then go straight to bottle in 2 more weeks?

Help! I need some advise here.

Well, I know it's early, but the first thing you're going to need to do is relax and have a brew. ;)

Quarter after 9:00am on a Sunday morning? What could possibly make you think it's too early?

Incur the wrath (you know it's coming anyway) and get another bucket.

I'd let you borrow one from me if you were closer. :D

Awww.....

But it's preggo wrath. It's pretty powerful of a wrath.

Sometimes, it's easier to beg for forgiveness, than ask for permission...

I was gonna say that... :D

If you have cash tell her you found $10.00 and bought a bucket. If there's any extra buy her a scratch off lottery ticket and tell her whatever she wins is hers to blow on anything she wants.

Sorry, that's all I could come up with on short notice....oh, and save your lunch money (I know, chances are you eat leftovers like I do).

Buy the bucket, and keep it hidden for a bit. Your wife is pregnant, so time the interval between her next two blowups. Half way between two blowups is when the good wife will normally appear, so that's when you suddenly remember that bucket you bought. It will also help if you have some of her favorite crave food handy. Trust me, I've used this method many times...once or twice I think it even worked. :D

How long were you originally planning to have the Kolsch is secondary? Another week or so of primary shouldn't kill your C-V I'd imagine. Do you have stuff steeping in your primary you want to get it away from?

Then again there's always the covert 'buy another secondary without SWMBO knowing about it' approach :D

What are you waiting for on the Kolsch? It's done. Bottle it now, clean the secondary and transfer the C-V into it and brew again. I wouldn't worry about keeping the C-V in the primary for another couple of weeks if you have to.

Prosit!

Buy the bucket.......

As my Father once said to me "Son, there's only two options....She'll either get over it........or she won't"
