When I made my glycol chiller a few years ago, I used regular food grade polypropylene. I've decided to change it as it is looking skanky and seems to have gotten diluted from condensation water.

I read a recent post about putting inhibited polypropylene in chillers to reduce chance of corrosion. I don't see much corrosion on the AC condenser that has been submerged a 35% solution for over 3 years, but some corrosion could be taking place, there seemed to be some rust in old solution.

When doing a search for inhibited polypropylene, I noticed that the same stuff I use in my boiler is listed; Cryo Tek 100. I know that is not food grade, which does not matter too much as my cooling coils are external to fermentor, but I guess it would be a factor with internal coils many systems have. Is there a food grade corrosion inhibited polypropylene product available?

I already have two gallons of food grade polyprop, and happen to also have 5 gallons of Cryo Tek in my boiler supplies, so I could use either. Would appreciate input if anyone has any insights or in depth knowledge on subject.

I can’t recall but chemworld might also sell the inhibitors to add to your existing glycol stock. Worth looking for it.
