Finally, no more bottling!!! I've been saving up for a while to buy all the necessary equipment to do kegging to save myself the madness of bottling. I ordered a 7cf chest freezer from menards that should be here sometime this week. I bought a dual ball lock keg set with a dual pressure regulator to adjust pressure on both kegs differently. I got a 5lb CO2 tank, and I've got two batches of brew in secondary that will be kegged next weekend.

Now what i've been seeing is that the warmest setting on these freezers isnt a reliable way to regulate temperature and keep the beer from freezing. There's a few choices it looks like for a temperature controller. the STC-1000 seems to be a popular choice. So this little 15 dollar gizmo is all I need?

oh and btw, you gonna want more kegs - i have 4 and want more. It's awesome when one keg goes and you have one sugar-primed and already cold. just slide it in and start drinking. also extras are good for ageing.

i'm certainly not intimidated by a little wiring, stc-1000 ordered and will be here by the end of the week. however, I checked the status of the chest freezer i ordered to have delivered to my local menards, since they didnt have any in stock, and the estimated ship date TO the store is the 26th. NOPE! my beer will be ready this week, fools. not to mention it all needs to be ready for my birthday **** show on the 27th.
