Getting into kegging

It's tax season and I can finally afford to get a kegging set up, so where do I start and where can I find some good deals? Thanks

You can go the easy route and buy a kit which usually includes everything you need, or piece together. I choose to buy a kit to save the hassle. Northern brewer, keg connection, morebeer are all good places to start.

I've seen some really good prices at homebrewing.org for kegs. I got bit by the same bug as you so the other day I was visiting my LHBS and I asked Chris about kegging. He was very helpful and told me a lot about kegging and answered all my questions. I ended buying a keg, lines, regulator and picnic tap. This is a basic one keg starter system. You can order online if you want to, but when buying used kegs, I think I like looking inside and seeing what I'm getting. Unless you're buying new kegs, I'd check out your LHBS.

There's no popular source I would not recommend. That said, I got my set-up through beveragefactory.com. Good customer service and prices. The link I posted is to the kegerator I got. It's a dual-tap, but holds three kegs. That comes in handy when lagering or chilling a keg.

Very good point. I initially bought new so I didn't need to see them. Have bought some used off craigslist so I could inspect.
