Ok, I made two rounds of all grain yesterday. The first one came out exactly at 1050. The second one however I believe due to poor crush came at 1030. These are both the same beer. So I want to get the second one to 1050 how much sugar dissolved in water should I add to the fermentor?

1 lb of sugar will add 1.045 gravity points to 1 gallon of beer. You don't reference your batch size so it's hard to say how much you'll need. I would be careful adding more than about 10% of your fermentable sugars from simple sugars. Too much will give you a cider like off flavor.

I would not get the gravity up from 30 to 50 using simple sugars. I think that could end up pretty horrible.. I'd rather add some dry malt extract, If i'd do anything with it at all.
